CHRIS RILEY LEADS WARRINGTON

ABOVE: Chris Riley leads Warrington
8th February 2010

By Martin Richards

CHRIS RILEY led a Warrington points explosion with five tries as weakened Harlequins were swept aside.

Wolves coach Tony Smith promised his side would deliver entertainment in 2010 in their quest for a fi rst Super League title and they didn’t disappoint.

Quins, shorn of seven players through injury and suspension had no answer to the Wolves’ exhilarating football.

The Challenge Cup holders were 28-0 up at the break with tries from Garreth Carvell, Richie Mathers, Michael Monaghan, Chris Bridge and Riley as they carved up the Quins almost at will.

Winger Riley added three more in quick succession as Wolves’ pace and offloads dazzled the crowd before new £200,000 signing Richie Myler scored his fi rst try for the club.

Riley then went over for his fifth before Simon Grix grabbed Wolves’ 11th score on a day the Quins will want to forget.
